A.R. Rahman to Compose for Pratik Gandhi’s 'Gandhi' Series, Produced by Applause Entertainment

In a landmark announcement on Gandhi Jayanti, Applause Entertainment, one of India’s foremost content studios, revealed that legendary composer and Grammy Award-winner A.R. Rahman will create the music for their highly anticipated series Gandhi. Rahman, known for his exceptional talent and musical genius, is set to elevate this historical series, bringing his signature emotional depth and artistry to the project.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta, starring the exceptional Pratik Gandhi, the narrative is based Ramachandra Guha’s acclaimed books Gandhi Before India and Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World, 1914-1948, the series is directed by Hansal Mehta. The first of three seasons will chronicle Gandhi’s early years, starting from his time as a law student in London to his transformative role as a civil rights activist in South Africa. It was during this formative period that Gandhi’s ideals of non-violence and truth began to take shape, eventually leading to his leadership in India’s independence movement. The subsequent seasons will cover the later years of his life, highlighting key milestones in his journey. The series aims to capture the complexities of India's journey to independence. Rahman’s music will complement the visual narrative by embodying the spirit of Gandhi’s philosophies, truth, love, and non-violence, adding a powerful dimension to the storytelling.
