Diljit Dosanjh Spill The Beans On Sikhs Being Stereotyped In Bollywood Films!
Diljit Dosanjh is currently in a promotional spree for his upcoming Punjabi film Shadaa. The actor will be seen opposite Neeru Bajwa in the film. The trailer of the film has piqued the interest of the viewers.

Recently Diljit got candid with us for an interview where he broke his silence on Bollywood stereotyping the Sikhs in their films. He spoke on the issue saying, 'I got work in the Bollywood industry because of my work in Bollywood films. I did a film, Punjab 1984 because of which I landed the film, Udta Punjab. So I have a lot to thank Phantom films and Abhishek Chaubey (director). I came to Mumbai and learnt about the whole process of filmmaking for the first time here but I was clear that I would do this film only if the role is challenging so they told me to listen to the story first.'
He further added, 'The next day, Abhishek Sir told me the whole story and not just my part. The film was shot exactly the way it was narrated to me. So I'm glad that instead of being stereotyped just, my role was appreciated in the film and I also received an award for the film. I had just one perception that I don't want to do any kind of role where I'm don't have any room to perform and my Punjabi audience should not be disappointed with me. A good film is a good film, whether its made its made in Punjabi or Hindi. So, I have just one agenda that I will do a film if my role is challenging or else I will not take it up even if the film is a big budgeted film.'

Shadaa will be releasing on June 21st, 2019. Diljit Dosanjh will also be seen in the much awaited film Good News opposite Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani.
