Here's What Diljit Dosanjh Did For Soorma!
Diljit Dosanjh who essays the role of hockey legend Sandeep Singh in the upcoming film Soorma had pushed himself to the extremes to achieves a look like a sports person, moreover to look like Sandeep

The actor not just had to practice hockey and learn Sandeep's stance but had to meet Paralympians and learn hockey from them.

Sandeep Singh who was shot with a bullet accidentally was paralyzed and went to a rehab to recover and come back in the game. As Soorma's story is inspired from true incidents even Diljit had to shoot those parts for which the actor in real life practiced hockey with Paralympians.
A scene depicts the character undergoing rehab and therapy. In order to make it look real in the film, the actor met real-life Olympians before the scene was shot, specifically for the portions in which he is bound to a wheelchair authentically.

The actor, who essays Sandeep Singh in the film, not only got trained by the former captain but also underwent a physical transformation to look like him.
Soorma was deliberately shot in Sandeep's hometown Shahabad as the director was keen on capturing the real essence of his journey. 

A fighter to the core, Sandeep did not give up and continued his hard work on the turf,

Sandeep's story is so inspirational that a Bollywood biopic is being made on his life where his role is portrayed by actor/singer Diljit Dosanjh. 
Sandeep is regarded as the most dangerous drag-flickers of all time with drag speeds of over 145 km/hr which led to his nickname, ‘Flicker Singh’.

The drag-flickers journey – of wins, losses, life, and death – will soon be seen on-screen in Soorma, a Shaad Ali directorial, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu.

Produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh, and Deepak Singh, Soorma is written & directed by Shaad Ali and is slated to release on 13th July, 2018.
