Kalank: The Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan And Alia Bhatt Starrer Gets A New Release Date!
The Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer Kalank will have its teaser unravelled soon on March 12th, 2019. The makers had recently unveiled the posters of all the characters from the film. Now the release date of the film has shifted from the original date of April 19th and now the film will release two days prior on April 17th, 2019 owing to capitalise on the holidays. According to a source, 'The idea is to capitalise on Mahavir Jayanti as well as Good Friday, besides Saturday and Sunday. It’s an extended weekend with two partial holidays. And going by past records, it’s a good time for a big film to release.'

This way, there will be an adequate breathing space for the film. The source further added, 'It’s a well-thought out business decision to advance the opening.' The film is directed by Abhishek Varman and is produced by  Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala and Grandsons and Fox Star Studios. 
The film stars Varun Dhawan as Zafar, Alia Bhatt as Roop, Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Chaudhry, Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum, Aditya Roy Kapur as Dev Chaudhry and Sonakshi Sinha as Satya Chaudhry. 

The film is a period drama and is set in the 40s era. The film is very close to Karan Johar's heart as it was his late father's dream project and he had got emotional while sharing its first look.
