The Shree Narayan Singh directorial Batti Gul Meter Chalu starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles revolves around the aftermath from the increasing electricity bills in the rural areas. Shahid Kapoor has been garnering praises for his powerful performance in the film. The film opened to a decent box office collection on its first day fetching Rs 6.25 crore.
On its second day, the film showed a steady growth at the box office garnering Rs 7.96 crore. Sunday collections 8.54cr. First weekend totals too 23.26cr.
It has opened up with good reviews from the critics due to the gritty subject and the powerful performances.
