Tumbbad Movie Review : A Powerfully And Intensely Carved Out Film Which Will Haunt Your Conscience And Make You Surrender To The Terrifying Aftermath Of Greed!
Starring  : Sohum Shah
3.5/5 Stars

The visually horrifying depiction of horror is the one which often dominates your imagery. The greatest threat from the dark and hidden often embodies real terror. The film showcases a hypnotic myth and deception. But what is extremely exceptional about Tumbbad is that it is not only visually terrifying but also has a monstrous tale of greed, lust and deceit. A person lustful of more wealth and power always meets his horrifying doom forms the main crux of the story. This mind wrenching plot and a larger than life production design makes it a path breaking creation in the horror genre.

The film starts with the prime fable of the aftermath of greed. The film is based in the village of Tumbbad and how it harbours the secret treasure of the goddess but with a horrifying usurper of its own. Vinayak ( Sohum Shah) eyes this treasure and how his greed surpasses two generations and leads to his downfall.

The main highlight of the film is its stunning cinematography and background score which sets you up for the macabre tone and setting of the film. Its not just a blood and gore tale but also the ghastly tale of lust and greed. Sohum Shah steals the show with his intense and fiery act. Cinematographer Pankaj Kumar along with production designer Nitin Zihani Choudhary and Rakesh Yadav did an outstanding job.

The film is definitely not for the faint hearted as there are some visually gory and bloodbath laden scenes which do not fail to terrify you. The film could have been more interesting with more backdrop and detailing about the horrifying mythological fable. But watch Tumbbad to undergo a visually enchanting experience of horror, greed and power.
