When Shahid And Shraddha Had To Learn Garhwali For Batti Gul Meter Chalu!
The trailer and songs of the Shree Narayan Singh directorial Batti Gul Meter Chalu starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles have been creating a lot of buzz. The film depicts a strong social message of the rising electricity bills in the rural areas and that of the prevailing corruption in the power corporations.

The makers indulged in a large scale research to make the story and characters look realistic  and since the film is set in Uttarakhand, Tehri, the dialogues of the film have some essence of ‘Garhwali’ which is a local dialect of the state. According to a leading publication, director Shree Narayan Singh said that, ‘Maintaining the commercial aspect without compromising on authenticity was one of our biggest challenges. I was lucky to have a great team on board. Be it the actors, producers, writers… everyone had the right mindset. I thoroughly enjoyed making this film.’
