You Don’t Need to Blush When Your Lips Are Blushing!!!
Lip blushing is the new semi-permanent makeup procedure that allows you to wake up with picture-perfect, beautifully flushed lips without applying lipstick, balm, or gloss. This treatment delivers very natural results, once healed. Lip blushing in the beauty world has gained many eye-balls as it delivers a natural look and gives the illusion of fuller lips. We spoke to ace cosmetologist & Aesthetician Debarati Ghosh who is the founder of The British Brow Bar and Regaliaa clinic in Bandra offering a multitude of skin, brow and lash treatments including the high-on-demand Lip Blushing service.

Lip Blush

Speaking on the service, Debarati said, "Lip Blushing is designed to enhance the natural colour and shape of your mouth for two to three years. Using a method called pixelating, the aesthetician deposits small, undetectable dots of pigment to line and shade. It uses organic pigments and modern, digital tools that feature several needle configurations instead of one harsh setting like in a tattoo machine. The pigments used are especially made due to which you get a watercolour effect, something similar to the process of tattooing except that tattoo pigments have a lot of iron in it making it look heavy. Lip blushing looks very natural, defined and colour that is pumped into the lips making it look hydrated and symmetrical.

When it comes to micro invasive procedures, one does want to still know the threshold for pain. Who can and must do it? Debarati says, "This technique is called lip micropigmentation which can be used to correct pigmented lips. Melanin content of the lips of smokers- men and women can get altered, rendering a darker shade. Smokers, especially, can use this treatment, not that I’m advocating smoking. Smoking is injurious to health. Period. Coming back to the treatment, as part of the procedure we first neutralise the lips and then infuse colour to remove dark pigments. It requires two sessions done in a span of a month's time. There is no downtime as such but lips dry out after treatment for 4-5 days while the lips are healing. In some cases, there is a slight swelling but it goes away within a few hours. Overall, the pain threshold is minimal. We use very good primary and secondary numbing procedures and make sure the client is comfortable."
