Akshay Kumar Joins Ayodhya’s Sacred Cause, Donates 1 Crore for Daily Feeding of Shri Ram’s Monkeys

In Tulsidas’s timeless Ramcharitmanas, Lord Ram acknowledges his eternal debt to Hanuman, saying, "I am forever indebted to you for your selfless service - सुनु सुत तोहि उरिन मैं नाहीं."

While Lord Ram’s gratitude to Chiranjeevi Hanuman remains everlasting, the monkeys of Ayodhya—believed to be descendants of Hanuman's devoted army—face a far more grounded struggle today. These sacred animals, once key allies in Lord Ram's victory over Ravana, now scavenge for food, often relying on discarded scraps.

To aid these symbolic animals, the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, led by Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj, has taken up the mission of feeding as many monkeys in Ayodhya as possible on a daily basis. Known for his commitment to Sanatan values, Akshay Kumar responded swiftly when the trust sought support. Without hesitation, he contributed Rs 1 crore to ensure the continued feeding of Ayodhya’s sacred creatures.

Founder trustee of Anjaneya Sewa Trust, Priya Gupta, shares, “I have always known Akshay Kumar to be an extremely kind and generous man, whether it’s with his staff, his crew, co-actors, or family members. He not only donated instantly and generously, but he also dedicated this great sewa in the name of both his parents, Hari Om and Aruna Bhatia, and his father-in-law, Rajesh Khanna. Akshay is not just a generous donor but also an equally socially conscious citizen of India. He was equally concerned about the citizens and city of Ayodhya, and thus we will ensure that no citizen gets inconvenienced while we feed the monkeys, and there is no littering on the streets of Ayodhya as a result of this feeding.”

With this act, Akshay Kumar’s involvement in the sacred cause extends beyond financial support, promising blessings from Shri Ram himself.
