Posted on 27 Jan, 2019
The Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi saw a phenomenal growth on the weekend which was also a Republic Day holiday garnering a growth of about 130-140 percent reportedly. The Republic Day holiday and the positive word of mouth worked wonders for the film at the box office. The film has been expected to acquire Rs 18-19 crore as the weekend collections which will easily make the total three day collections coming to Rs 26-27 crore.
The film may soon be the biggest grossing film at the opening day collections for Kangana Ranaut. The film has garnered much appreciation from the masses. The film is expected to maintain the steady growth on Sunday owing to the holiday.
The film has crossed the collections of the Nawazuddin Siddique starrer Thackeray. Thackeray managed to garner only Rs 2.75-3 crore on its opening day while Manikarnika had garnered Rs 7.50-8 crore on Day 1.
Thackeray has had a rather dull response from the areas outside Mumbai. Manikarnika in turn garnered the most positive responses from areas of Delhi and Gurgaon. The film is expected to garner improved collections from UP, MP and Rajasthan.
