Yash Chopra Foundation Introduces Life-Changing Scholarships for Children of Hindi Film Industry Workers
Posted on 27 Sep, 2024
On the occasion of Yash Chopra’s 92nd birth anniversary, the Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), the philanthropic division of Yash Raj Films, has launched a new and impactful initiative—the YCF Scholarship Program.
This program is designed to support the children of Hindi film industry workers from low-income backgrounds, offering them a chance to pursue higher education. These workers, the unsung heroes who form the backbone of the industry, must be registered with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for their children to be eligible for this opportunity.
The scholarship will provide financial assistance of up to INR 5 lakhs per student for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in disciplines such as Mass Communication, Filmmaking, Production & Direction, Visual Arts, Cinematography, and Animation. By funding their education, the Yash Chopra Foundation aims to empower the next generation to follow their dreams and contribute meaningfully to the industry their families have been a part of for decades.

Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, commented, “Yash Chopra always believed in giving back to the Hindi film industry. This philosophy is deeply embedded in our company’s values. On his 92nd birth anniversary, we are honored to launch this initiative that will enable the children of industry workers to carve their own paths and leave their mark on the film world.”
The selection process will include a personalized interview, and successful candidates will receive comprehensive financial support. For more details on eligibility and how to apply, visit the Yash Chopra Foundation website or reach out via email at contact@yashchoprafoundation.org.
