Did Katrina Kaif's Loss Just Become Shraddha Kapoor's Gain?
As it was reported earlier, Katrina Kaif had backed out of Remo D'souza's anticipated dance film in which she was about to star alongside Varun Dhawan. Katrina backed out of the project due to her commitments to the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial Bharat in which she stars opposite Salman Khan. The makers immediately started their hunt for the new female lead.

There were rumors doing the round that Jacqueline Fernandez, Sara Ali Khan or Kriti Sanon are being considered for the role. But today Varun Dhawan revealed on his social media that it is his ABCD 2 co-star Shraddha Kapoor who is his new female lead. Varun posted a picture with Shraddha saying,
Now Katrina Kaif's loss has certainly become Shraddha's gain in this one. Shraddha already has an interesting lines of films this year. She will be seen in the film Shahoo opposite Prabhas as well as the Saina Nehwal biopic where she will be seen playing the titular role. Then, she will be seen in the film Chhichhore opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Now on addition to these films, this dance film is certainly an additional bonus for Ms Kapoor.

Looking at the bigger picture, seems like Shraddha was truly made for the role. The actress has earlier worked with Varun in ABCD 2 and had also teamed up with him for the song 'High Rated Gabru' wherein her chemistry and camaraderie with Varun was highly appreciated. The actors are great friends off screen too which relfects in their perfomance too. Talking about this development Shraddha said, " I’m excited to reunite with Remo sir, Prabhudehva sir and Varun after ABCD 2. This was made possible by Bhushanji (producer Bhushan Kumar) who brought us back and believed in this amazing story. It is going to be a lot of hard work for everyone involved but we are all pumped up."
Director Remo D'souza also said, "It feels like old friends have come together to help us. We have worked as a team in the past and I’m sure it will be a fun ride again."

The film will be shot in Amritsar, Mumbai and London. The film will also mark the debut of choreographer Shakti Mohan and Vartika Jha.
