Kanika Maheshwari: I've Had An Emotional Breakdown While Filming The Movie!

Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Kanika Maheshwari is riding high on the success of her first attempt at short film making that has been well received at various film festivals. 

Actress, mother & also a philanthropist Kanika Maheshwari recently penned down & produced a heart-breaking film that revolves around a mother-daughter relationship after the former has been detected with cancer. The movie's titled 'Forever Whim'. 

A doting mother to her son, Kanika who's written & also plays a mother in the film believes shooting for the film the hardest ever, 'This movie is not about a patient fighting the illness, it touches the sensitive mother-daughter relationship. I remember this particular scene, where I have to record a video diary & look composed, I started crying hysterically & nothing could stop me. So the director decided to go ahead with that shot. I was emotionally drained during the entire writing process. I could feel the pain as my own. I kept thinking about my son.' 

She further shared, "It's an illness which does more mental damage than physical. A close friend's son was detected with cancer & I have seen her break down & put up a strong face. I have used many examples around me as a reference to chalk out the relationship between the patient & his loved ones. I'm content with the work & hoping it will strike a chord with the audiences."
