3/5 Stars
Education in today's era has become nothing less than a blindfolded rat race and an opportunity for unbashed exploitation. The film revolves around some vulnerable students and their desperate parents who fall into the entourage of cheating to score their children a seat in a reputed engineering college. Taking opportunity of the scenario is the conniving Rakesh Sharma aka Rocky (Emraan Hashmi) who lies a honey trap for such students and their parents who end up falling to his trap of crime and some quick money. He hires the bright students to give examinations for the less brighter but priveliged students and takes advantage of the existing corruption in the universities. His actions pave the way for the prevailing corruptions and the scrupulous malpractice in the education system. The director Soumik Sen has made an honest attempt to highlight the mentality of Indian parents and the money oriented business which is our education system but he failed miserably at the execution.

The backdrop of the film revolves around areas of Jhansi, Kota and Jaunpur where there only one dream binds the students and their parents that is to become successful engineers, doctors or MBA graduates. Rakesh Sharma's greed and ambition to become the ultimate flag bearer of this education scam just reflects the hidden scams and notoriety prevailing in the rural sections of the country. Where morals and the future of the students go for a toss in the cut throat competition and corruption. But there are several loose ends and an unfinished execution. There is a faulty screenplay and writing which makes the plot ambiguous. One cannot understand how some students including Sattu can be entirely dependent on Rocky knowing they are just a pawn in his game. One also cannot relate with Rocky's troubled and monotonous personal life. However post interval, we are introduced to a major twist which quickens the action.

Emraan Hashmi steals the show with his suave and sleek act doing full justice to the conniving Rakesh Sharma. His body language, wit and command over his character is unmissable. The actor could have been given some more punch worthy dialogues though. But his screen presence is truly charming. Newbie Shreya Dhanwanthary is promising and looks confident.

This one is a prime example of a gritty and true subject not getting justice due to poor execution. But do not miss this one to unravel and witness the scrupulous scams in the education scenario of our country.
