Akshay Kumar Requests Pakistan To Release Padman, Here Is What He Said...
Akshay Kumar's Padman starring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte which hit the screens on 9th February, has been receiving rave reviews across countries and is running successfully at the box office.Though the movie is faring well trade wise, there are still few road blocks owing to the subject of Menstruation, which is considered as a taboo not only in India , but also in many other countries. Though the movie got a smooth release in India and other countries like Russia,Latin America, Ivory Coast, Iraq, It was banned in Pakistan. Clarifying their stance on  the same, the authorities said that it is due its subject revolving around taboo. Pakistan Central Board of Film Censors denied to give the No-Objection Certificate to the film and said, "we cannot allow a film whose name, subject and story are not acceptable yet in our society." They disallowed the Pakistani film distributors IMGC and HKC to purchase the film rights and stated that they were ruining Islamic traditions, history and culture." Film posters were also removed from the local cinemas. 

Talking about the same, in a recent media interaction, Akshay Kumar stated that all he could do is request them to let people watch the film. "I request Pakistan that please allow people to watch this film. It's an important subject ,very important for people and there is nothing wrong in this film. It is a very pure subject. I hope they take my request and allow the movie to get released. And I am sure one day it will happen.", said Akshay.
The actor further adds, "The whole idea about making this movie was to break this taboo and to tell that there is nothing bad. I've made this with intension that women should go and watch with fmly, and males should specially go and watch it, there is nothing wrong in talking about it or helping your wife, going and buying Pads, it's a very natural thing ." 

Padman is based on the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who brought about a revolution by introducing a low cost machine to produce low cost sanitary pads.
