Alia Or Priyanka Who will Reign The Hollywood Industry?

Hollywood is one of the largest centres for film production, known for high-end creativity, big-budget, and employing stellar talents. Many actors from the Indian Cinema right from Irrfan Khan to Dhanush, From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Dimple Kapadia have worked in Hollywood. But, the continuity of the presence of Indian actors in the west has always been a disappointing factor. Though many Indian actors debuted in the west, their stint was short-lived for whatever the reasons.

The only actress who did not just dream of being seen in Hollywood but established herself is none other than Priyanka Chopra. The Desi girl has been breaking the barriers since the beginning of her career and her "Global Domination" drive has made her one of the known names in the west industry.

The recent buzz doing the rounds not just in the tinsel-town but also in the western media space is the debut of Indian Cinema's highly talented and powerhouse performer Ali Bhatt's debut. Alia Bhatt is all set to make her big Hollywood debut alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in Tom Harper's upcoming Film, Heart of Stone. Before spilling the beans on Alia's debut, let's have a look at Desi Girl's journey in the west.

Priyanka entered the west entertainment industry with (debuted in the US) with her single In My City in the year 2012. Priyanka made her first Mainstream Hollywood debut in 2015 with ABC's Thriller drama Quantico, starring as Alex Parrish who is the prime suspect of a bombing case. Rob Lowman of the Los Angeles Daily News felt "In Quantico's case, it's a woman, and they have a charismatic star in Chopra. I was immediately struck by her dynamic screen presence. So far it's one of the most promising new shows, and Chopra is someone worth keeping an eye on."

The approval rating in the US solidified Priyanka's prominence in the American industry. Quantico ran from September 27, 2015, to August 3, 2018, receiving mostly positive reviews from its viewers.

During this time, Priyanka Chopra starred in 2017's Baywatch, an action-comedy featuring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Jon Bass. On a budget of $69 million, Baywatch successfully made $177.9 million during its run. Consequently, she made her extended cameos in 2018's A kid like Jake and 2019's is it romantic, both receiving favorable reviews.

Priyanka Chopra launched her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures which produced 2019's American Youtube series hosted by Priyanka Chopra. In 2020, Evil Eye, a supernatural horror film directed by Elan and Rajeev Dassani, also came under the banner of Purple Pebble Pictures. The biggest successful venture of Purple Pebble Pictures is the 2021 drama film, The White Tiger. The film was distributed by Netflix and soon had a 91% approval rating on movie meter websites. Priyanka Chopra Jones has effectively curated a fine career in the American film industry and is continuing to do so.

PeeCee had the internet bustling in 2021, when The Matrix Resurrections released. She was trending in two countries, India and USA for her role as Sati. The trending question was the length of her role. Priyanka has solidified her presence in both the countries for people to see her as the lead.

Alia Bhatt is now all geared up to walk the same road of success. She has already prevailed in the Bollywood fraternity with her performances. Bhatt's diverse filmography has earned her the reputation of a powerhouse. She dabbles in any genre and makes a strong presence. With the talks of Alia Bhatt stepping into Hollywood, there is a unanimous question trending on all social media, "Will she make it big?"

Heart of Stone is directed by Tom Harper. The same director has created a cultural impact with BBC's period crime drama Peaky Blinders. He is regarded as one of the most successful filmmakers in contemporary times. Heart of Stone is a spy thriller. Filming has started as of March 2022. It will fall under the banner of Skydance Media production, known for Mission: Impossible: Fallout.

The film is still in the development stages so the plot is under the wraps. With this venture, a frenzy of Alia Bhatt making it bigger than Priyanka Chopra Jones has started. Obviously, both are great in their respective ventures. But with Alia Bhatt giving only 2 flops out of the 12 films she has been a part of and with a success rate of 83%, Alia Bhatt is bound to give a blockbuster Hollywood debut.

This buzz will only get stronger when Zoya Akhtar's upcoming film "Jee Le Zara" starring both Alia and Priyanka with Katrina Kaif will go on floors next year.
