Anurag Kashyap Apologizes To The Sikh Community For The Controversial Manmarziyaan Scene!
Taking a sabbatical from his usual dark genre films, Anurag Kashyap tried to portray a unique love story through his film Manmarziyan starring Taapsee Pannu, Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal. But there are certain glimpses of the typical Anurag Kashyap essence in some moments in the film. In the film, Abhishek Bachchan plays Robbie, a banker whose character adds in the unique love triangle in the film. While Abhishek's character has been appreciated by many people, there are some scenes where his character can be seen smoking which has caused trouble for the film. Few of the members of the Sikh community have raised objection for the scenes and have heavily criticized it.
The director took to twitter to finally break his silence on the controversy. He said he is not in the country at the moment but he has been reading about the smoking scenes offending the Sikh community. He specifically wrote, 'This film is not commenting on a community, it talks about individuals and their choices'.  Every step of the way,  we asked for guidance from the Sikh people for the film.' He also added that he respected the decision of the community when they asked him not to shoot the marriage scene in the Gurudwara.

Anurag stated that he is ready to apologize to all the community members whose feelings have been hurt with the smoking scenes in the film nonetheless. Well,  we hope Anurag gets rid of this nasty controversy soon.
