Bombairiya Review: This One Is An Overdose Of Some Unwanted Chaos And Some Meaningless Humdrum!
Starring: Radhika Apte, Akshay Oberoi, Siddhanth Kapoor
Directed By: Pia Sukanya
2/5 Stars

A conniving politician receives a seven star luxurious treatment in a prison cell. A film star suddenly finds pleasure in fleeing from his movie set to boat paddle in a nearby lake. A dating app developer suddenly turns heroic to helo a stranger and chooses to change into more presentable clothes in an gift shop. These ambiguous and humorless writing just added more to the nonsensical mess which the film is.

The film revolves around a perplexed forever young woman Meghana (Radhika Apte) who works as a PR for a film star Karan Kapoor (Ravi Kishan). All hell break loose when she loses her phone and that paves the way for a long drawn chaos and drama for an entire day.  At the same time there is some drama unfolding at the other side of the corner as there is a terror attack being plotted by a conniving politician (Adil Hussain) and a disguised sniper (Amit Sial). The cops headed by a police commissioner are on a lookout for a man with a checkered shirt and a pink scooter who is believed to be the carrier of a dangerous explosive. Then there are some weirdly behaving radio talk show winners who get a chance to meet their favorite celeb and you literally have no idea of what their existence literally means in the film. Some overexcited for no apparent reason parents are there too who just have the cliched Indian parents mentality to get their children hitched.

The director Pia Sukanya tried to weave out a comedy of errors within a chaotic day but has failed miserably. The story has meaningless plot lines and rapidly moving sequences which leaves you confused, irritated and not to mention is a nonsensical mental torture.

Radhika Apte was in her best form but even her calibre could not save this film. Akshay Oberoi seemed as confused as his character in the film and you actually feel pity for this guy. Siddhanth Kapoor is literally a talent gone wasted in this poorly written film. Shilpa Shukla and Ravi Kishan struggle to add some fun elements in the film but it does not help. Adil Hussain is another talented performer you feel sad for who has got entangled in this without head or tail loose story.

There is an underlying message in the film which sadly got lost due to the reckless writing and poor execution of the film. The message of protecting crime witnesses does not come through clearly and it can be safely said that this one is highly avoidable if you do not want it to mess with your head.
