Boney Kapoor Sends A Legal Notice To The Makers Of The Priya Prakash Varrier Film, Sridevi Bungalow!

Well some films start receiving backlash very much before their release. Priya Prakash Varrier’s Bollywood debut film Sridevi Bungalow is certainly one of them. The trailer of the film released yesterday and immediately the makers started receiving severe criticism for it. The makers saw some major flak on the social media and inevitably Boney Kapoor, the late actress Sridevi’s husband sent a legal notice to the makers of the film. After the teaser was released, people realized the film traced events from Sridevi’s death.

Priya Prakash Varrier plays a superstar named Sridevi who at the end of the teaser, dies lying inside the bathtub just how the late actress was reported to have breathed her last. The film is being heavily criticized due to the insensitive death scene. The director of the film, Mambully confirmed of being sent the legal notice stating, ‘We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him that Sridevi is a common name. My film's character also happens to be an actress. We will face it.’

Priya Prakash Varrier was in the city for the trailer launch of her film recently. She refused to comment on the controversy the film has been embroiled into. Her father also refused to comment on the controversy. Well, now it is just a matter of time to wait and watch what is in store for the film.
