Chitrangada Singh On The #MeToo Movement: I'm Very Thankful To Tanushree, She Has Shaken Up The Whole Country!
The Me Too Movement has taken the entire country by storm which was initiated by Tanushree Datta who had accused Nana Patekar of harassment on the sets of Horn Ok Plssss. Many members of the film fraternity have been vocal about it, the latest being actress Chitrangada Singh who is on a promotional spree for her upcoming film Bazaar.

Talking to us about this issue, she said, "I'm extremely happy and thankful to Tanushree. She has shaken up the whole country. I think it happened more because it was boiling under for such a long time and it just needed a pebble to drop for the whole thing to come out. I'm glad that we are doing something about it."
It is known to all that even before the Me Too movement was initiated, Chitrangada Singh was one of the first ones to talk about harassment when she had faced a similar incident with the makers of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz because of which she had even walked out of the project. Talking about the incident, she quoted, "I wish the Me Too movement had occurred earlier in the West so we could've caught up with it. I had not offered to talk about the whole situation honestly, I spoke about it because the makers gave an interview about me and I had to come out to clarify about it. What really hurts me is the fact that even though the male actor ( Nawazuddin Siddique ) who could've handled things was on set and there was a female producer on set but they all kept quiet. Then later when the film released, they just joked and laughed about it saying some crass things like, ' Do do baar hi maze le liye humne'. That hurt me and also that later they said, 'Usko script main changes chahiye tha' even though they knew why I left and I was in tears on set as the incident happened in front of everybody."

She further added, "Now people are not saying that these things just happen. We need a healthy society and it is about time that we can talk about it. I am glad that people want to hear about what happened to me."

Chitrangada will be seen in the film Bazaar opposite Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte and debutante Rohan Mehra which is directed by Gaurav Chawla.
