Did You Know - Richa Chadha’s On-Screen Avatar Of Bholi Punjaban Is Inspired By A Real-Life Character!
Posted on 29 Dec, 2017
Art imitates life and life imitates art is a common saying but looks like in case of Richa Chadha it’s the latter which is interestingly applicable. Richa Chadha’s last film Fukrey Returns which smashed records in its genre and has become one of the most profitable films this year has yet another interesting facet about it that no one knew about.
Looks like the comical don that Richa plays as a dreaded local gangster was not all fictional. In fact, a real-life Delhi based female don has been nabbed by the police last night. Named Sonu Punjaban has far too many uncanny parallel similarities to that of Bholi Punjaban. Barring the same last name, the characters both on and off screen are truly similar owing to their notorious ways.

If one follows and reads about Sonu, would know that she’s been a don since her young age and became quite a local popular name in Delhi and then became closely associated with politics, much like how Richa’s on-screen character has been shown so far in the film.
This adds to the already spreading news that there’s a likely spin-off on Bholi Punjaban herself on the cards in the future, looks like this new development has made it more certain.
