Here Is What Madhuri Dixit Has To Say About Stepping Into The Shoes Of The Late Sridevi For The Film Kalank!
It is well known to all that after Sridevi's untimely demise, Madhuri Dixit was roped in to fill in her shoes for the film Kalank and we were sure that she would do full justice to the role. But it truly must have been an emotional moment for Madhuri Dixit to step into the shoes of her late contemporary and the actress recently got candid about her thoughts on the matter. Talking to a leading publication, Madhuri said, 'When I was on the sets, I looked at it as just another role. But, yes, I was extremely emotional when Karan (Johar) asked me to take up her role. I hope I make her proud.'

Few days back, we marked the first death anniversary of the legendary actress and on the occasion, Madhuri said that, 'We had known each other for many years and shared a warm equation. It was difficult for everyone in the industry to wrap their heads around her sudden loss. It is still hard to accept the truth. I don’t think anyone of us has still come to terms with her absence. We will always feel the void.' When Madhuri was roped in for Kalank, late Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor also shared a picture of her mother with Madhuri Dixit, thanking her for taking up the role and captioned the picture saying, 'Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film.'
Talking about her role in the film which is reportedly of a dancer, Madhuri had earlier revealed that, 'When people watch the movie, they will realize how different it is from what I have done in my other films like Devdas where I played Chandramukhi. The role that I have here is poles apart from that.'

The film also features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. Sridevi passed away last year, on February 24th, 2018 due to accidental drowning in a hotel room in Dubai. Her untimely death had plunged the entire nation into grief and remorse.
