J P Dutta Backs His Soldier’s Mistake!
Be it a period film or a war drama, there’s always an added responsibility on the filmmaker to get every minute detailing right thereby lending the project more authenticity.

Veteran filmmaker J P Dutta has also walked the extra mile to ensure that his forthcoming war drama PALTAN looks as real and convincing as possible. Interestingly, while shooting a war scene for the movie in Ladakh, he backed his actor Harshvardhan Rane’s mistake.
A source says, “While a Light Machine Gun is supposed to be operated from the ground level, Harshvardhan by mistake, lifted it and started firing for a particular scene. Next day, the actor shot the same scene with a close up shot, the real army officers present on the sets objected to it since a soldier is supposed to fire from the gun lying on the ground.”

“Though the shooting came to a halt for some time, J P sir came to the actor’s rescue and requested the army officers if he can go ahead with what he have already shot and they obliged it. Harshvardhan thought he made a mistake by getting too emotional and got carried away with his character but J P Sir handled the situation. Harshvardhan plays the most emotionally charged character in PALTAN as seen in the trailer,” the source adds.
