The legendary tale of the Ramayan returns to television, reimagined with a unique twist. The narrative begins in the heat of the battle in Lanka, where Ram and Lakshman, along with the Vanar Sena, are struck by Meghnath's deadly Naagpash. As the brothers lie gravely wounded, Hanuman summons Garud from heaven to free them. However, Garud, perplexed by the divine mystery, questions whether Ram is truly an incarnation of Vishnu or merely a mortal man. On Narad's advice, Garud seeks out Kaakbhushundi, the greatest devotee of Shri Ram, to unravel the divine truth. The journey takes Garud across galaxies to a timeless realm where the sage Kaakbhushundi resides. Here, the epic unfolds in a multiverse format, weaving through time and space to connect the many facets of the Ramayan.

Blending high-tech VFX with a soul-stirring musical score, Kaakbhushundi Ramayan – Untold Stories is designed to deliver a visually stunning and culturally immersive experience. Produced by Sagar World Multimedia, the series premieres on Doordarshan (DD1) on 18th November 2024. It will air Monday to Friday at 7:30 PM, with a repeat telecast at 10 PM.

The series is helmed by creative director and producer Shiv Sagar, grandson of the late Dr. Ramanand Sagar, whose 1987 adaptation of the Ramayan revolutionized Indian television. With over a billion viewers worldwide, it became the most-watched series of its time, broadcast in more than 65 countries.

Shiv Sagar continues the family legacy, following in the footsteps of his father, Prem Sagar, who directed the iconic Vikram Aur Betal in 1985. That series laid the groundwork for the Ramayan, introducing Indian audiences to a genre that would soon dominate television.

Relive the grandeur of Kaakbhushundi Ramayan, a saga that promises to rekindle the magic of the original epic while offering a fresh perspective on its timeless themes. Don't miss this journey through the divine and the extraordinary.
