Manoj Bajpayee Is In A Happy Space Due To Applauds He’s Been Receiving On The Film Festival Circuit!
The powerhouse performer and two times National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee is in a happy space due to applauds he’s been receiving on the film festival circuit. His two independent films Love Sonia and Gali Guleiyan(In the Shadows) have been on a foreign fest journey and has won various awards.

Again this time with his superlative acting prowess Manoj Bajpayee has won best actor award at Indian Film Festival Melbourne leaving behind other nominees in the category - Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Varun Dhawan. Gali Guleiyan (In the Shadows) also won Special Jury Award at Indian Film Festival Melbourne making independent cinema shine in its glory. Manoj Bajpayee plays the toughest role, playing a character that is isolated and trapped — physically, emotionally and psychologically. Bajpayee as always reiterates his command on his craft as he conveys so much while given so little to say or do.
Manoj Bajpayee has always explored performance-oriented characters since the beginning of his career. He opted to be pro –choice instead of being pro – big budget films. With powerful and offbeat roles right from Dacoit Mann Singh in Bandit Queen (1994), his path breaking performance as Bhiku Mhatre in Satya (1998), Inspector Samar Pratap Singh in Shool (1999), Rashid in Pinjar (2003), Virendra Pratap Singh in Raajneeti (2010), Sardar Khan in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) to most recent Ramchandra Siras in Aligarh (2016), Manoj always chose to take up roles that define the character and worth the character brings to the story, perhaps this is the reason Manoj’s every film sets a benchmark for him.

“When the performance is judged on basis of excellence it’s truly amazing and feeling of victory is much sweeter. I thank you each and every one who appreciated our efforts that we’ve put to make this film and also my part in the film. It’s a very important film and a story that needs to be told.” said actor Manoj Bajpayee. The film was nominated in 4 different categories.
Gali Guleiyan (‘In the Shadows’) explores the roots of paranoia in loner intent on spying on his neighbors. Here the protagonist's obsession expresses itself through cheap, jerry-rigged surveillance cameras that he watches with morbid fascination. The thriller film is a psychological drama about a man who is trapped within the city walls and in his own mind and attempts to break free to find a human connection.

Actor who is currently in Melbourne will be back in India and soon will start promotions for Gali Guleiyan (In the Shadows) which is set to release on 7th September 2018. After ruling the silver screen for many years, the thespian Manoj Bajpayee is all set to helm a web series ‘The Family Man’ with his unmatchable acting  directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK that will release on an OTT platform – Amazon Prime.
