‘Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical’ Receives A Stupendous Response At The Dubai Opera!
One has witnessed theatre plays and musicals achieve success and emerge victorious through their run but for an Indian musical to transcend across borders and replicate its success story with every show staged across the world is truly a rare feat in itself.
‘Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical’ spins its magic yet again, this time at the Dubai Opera in Dubai. The epic musical masterpiece which went on to complete its 150th show during its grand premiere has received a phenomenal response from the Dubai audiences. With its fourth international stage performance, the audience has gone gaga over the performances and the gigantic production scale of the stage play.
Says Director Feroz Abbas Khan says, “It's a huge honour to see that people from across the world are loving the play. We have been extremely fortunate to have consistently received the adulation from audiences in India and across the globe. I want to thank the audience for being so kind and showering us with all the love and appreciation.”
Deepesh Salgia (Creative and Strategic Vision: Mughal-e-Azam) says “Promotion of Indian Art and Culture has been Shapoorji’s prime agenda behind the show. To watch people of different cultures and ethnicity coming together is a humbling feeling.”
Jasper Hope, Chief Executive of Dubai Opera says, “Mughal-e-Azam is a spectacular and wonderful show. The classic story blends multiple cultures seamlessly and it thrilled Dubai’s extraordinarily cosmopolitan audience over five packed shows last weekend.”
‘Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical’ has also accomplished another feat by winning seven awards at the Broadway World India Awards last year including an award for Best Indian Play. The live singing coupled with compelling performances by the lead actors, the supremely choreographed dance sequences by Mayuri Upadhya, a state-of-the-art production design, and the gloriously designed Manish Malhotra costumes of the Mughal era make ‘Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical’ a treat to watch.

Produced by Shapoorji Pallonji, ‘Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical’ was staged at the Dubai Opera in Dubai from January 10th to January 12th, 2019.
