Parineeti Chopra: I Was Even Ready To Be A Tree In The Background For Kesari!
Parineeti Chopra is currently on a promotional spree for her upcoming film Kesari opposite Akshay Kumar. The actress plays Akshay's wife in the film. The film is based on the battle of Saragarhi wherein 21 soldiers fought bravely against 10,000 Afghan invaders.

Parineeti recently got candid in an interview with us wherein she revealed to us about her character from the film. She told us, 'As you and I both know the truth, the film is ultimately about the boys, it is about the Battle of Saragarhi so everybody wants to show that flavour. But, in three days we're releasing our love songs (based on her and Akshay Kumar) so you'll get an idea about my character there but I still want to tell you that at the end of the film, it is all about the boys. This is a small chapter in Akshay Sir's life because the story is about the battle, there's nothing before or after. But Anurag Sir (the director) has in a very smart way added this love story into the war but its all about the battle.'
She further added, 'I'm playing a Punjabi character and its about this Sikh guy who meets a Sardarni. The film is about the two days of the battle wherein one day is the planning and the other is the actual battle. Whenever he is at an emotional point, my character comes in his thought process. I used to be his wife who died and then he always remembers the conversations he used to have with me. He remembers how we met and how our love story shaped up. But the story is ultimately about these 21 Sikhs. I just wanted to be a part of it when I heard the script. I never thought much about my role or the screen time. I just wanted to be a part of the film. I was also okay being a tree in the background.'

The film has Akshay Kumar playing Havildar Ishar Singh who was the leader of the battalion of the 21 Sikh soldiers who faced the 10,000 Afghan invaders. The film will release on March 21st, 2019.
