Jabariya Jodi, the movie based on real-life incidents that take place in the northern states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh is a unique blend of facts integrated with comedy and drama. It showcases "Pakadwa Shaadi" or forced marriage, a traditional practice that has been going on in states like Bihar for decades. 

Do you know that in Bihar on an average 7 eligible bachelors are kidnapped every day and forcefully married? Every year there are almost 1500-1800 marriages happen this way. The basic concept of the practice is so that the families of the bride who are presented with an exuberant demand for dowry can avoid and now the answer to the same is the kidnapping of eligible grooms and forcefully getting them married. Sidharth Malhotra's character in Jabariya Jodi is lightly based on one such man from Bihar.

The Prashant Singh directorial is shot at real locations in Uttar Pradesh to give the right flavor and will witness Sidharth Malhotra essay a rustic character, for the first time ever with Parineeti Chopra. The due is reuniting to deliver a one of its kind love story to the audience- a surprise wedding of the year which is based on the practice of Pakadwa Shaadis. 

The film also stars the varied powerhouses of talent such as Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra, Neeraj Sood, Gopal Dutt, Javed Jaffrey, and Chandan Roy Sanyal. With a stellar cast, the movie is set to take over as a new love saga.
