When Augmented Reality Met Dance For The First Time On Dance+ 5!
Star Plus' popular dance reality show Dance+5 has been entertaining the audience across countries, week-on-week with magical performances. As the show is reaching its final leg, the competition has started heating up and the contestants are pushing their limits to not only impress the masters but also to win the nation’s hearts. But what's more interesting is that the show is setting their own benchmarks and how.

For the first time on the show, Captain Suresh Mukund will take the level of competition a notch above by pushing the boundaries of technology and dance act presentation through his upcoming AR performance where they created a jungle and a lion. In order to make this possible, we hear that the team flew down a leading innovations company from China.
Talking about his act, Captain Suresh said, “I have been planning this act from the past 2 months and watching it turn into a reality was a dream come true. The rehearsals could not be done in the hall and we required the stage at all times. It was a difficult task but the team really worked together, special mention to Monark who did not give up despite multiple takes and injuries. I am so excited to bring forth this technology and performance to everyone.”
Sharing his excitement contestant Monark said, “When we started rehearsing, I thought the performance was going to be pre-recorded and the edit team will add the effects but it was nothing like that. I had to perform live on an empty stage and memorize all the markings along with the steps to make sure I land on the correct spot where the elements are placed on the screen. It was only after 20 flips that I landed on the correct marking.”
For the audience to know, the set-up was directly made on the LED screen through technology with the jungle theme as the backdrop and Monark will be seen performing on ‘Jiyo Re Bahubali’ song on an empty stage.

Watch Dance+ 5 Saturday – Sunday at 8PM only on Star Plus.
